Korg Kaoss Pad 3 Review
Slurp…

I always loved the Kaoss Pad since it’s launch in 1999. Primarily it’s a signal effects processor with a great playable surface. This means that parameters from a particular effects program can be mapped on to a large X-Y control area and an incoming signal can then be altered by modifications you draw on the screen itself.
Kaoss Pad 2 showed up in 2002, Korg had been persuaded by demands from Kaoss users who wanted onboard sample triggers, extended effects algorithms as well as a better control surface. These functions had been properly implemented, together with DJ tools like BPM detection and a dedicated mic input.
With the release of Kaoss Pad 3, Korg again have listened carefully to the wishes and needs of its user base, and & I’m happy to say they haven’t rested on the success of KP2.

Beat Making On A Budget: DUBturbo
Is DUBTurbo The Best Beat Making Software For Your Money?
Right now you can get DUBturbo for just $30 and that includes all of the above bonus kits, training videos and much more.
I’m please to report that it’s features and sound quality places it almost up there in the $200 plus market, plus it has some great mastered sound libraries and an easy, user friendly interface.
It kinda reminds me of a mixture of logic, cubase, and an mpc for their own beat machine panel. It offers a lot more than anything else in it’s price range, you can’t really compare them.
For a beat maker that cost just $30 I was extremely impressed with its overdelivery in many of the key areas in any beat making program.
Importing a few kits was a cinch and I set about making 4 kits effortlessly by beatboxing right into a mic and then chopping up the audio directly into my own kits and then sequencing them.
Exporting into a .wav is also hassle-free, and it also lets you manage the volume level of each and every sound, not merely the main kit.
Each drum kit offers 10 sounds, so that you can turn down the master of all 10 combined, or maybe turn down just the snare, or turn up only the kick, and so on.
It even is sold with training videos that demonstrates how you can get up and running within just 20 minutes. Then you can enjoy and play with the more advanced components of the software.
With DUBturbo you can now make 16-32 bars of top quality hooks, patterns, and beats along with their customized sounds and samples, without the need to spend days reading through the tech manual.

Osmos iPad Review
Turn on, tune in & drop out…
Osmos looks and sounds dazzling, and it has unique physics-based game play to complement its looks.
Osmos for iPad is simply gorgeous. The graphics are simple but detailed, and benefit from some lovely effects, from having the ability to see the other motes in the level shift color from being really orange, to gradually get blue edges, to growing to be completely blue.
The zooming is particularly well done, since you can go from viewing remarkably detailed motes to seeing the complete game board in a second without any slowdown whatsoever.
The ambient soundtrack is impressive as well, and is quite definitely worthy of headphones, as the game recommends you should do at the start. Experiencing the game aurally as well as visually contributes a great deal to the game.
Osmos for iPad is really a game that plays about as beautifully as it looks. It is relaxing, yet it can also be intense; it can be thoughtful, but needs fast responses. This might be the very first truely great iPad game, since it feels like it takes advantage of the iPad platform in ways that other games failed to do:
Regardless of the game being a port of a PC title, it feels so attuned to the iPad that it virtually feels like it must have belonged on it for an entire time.
For those who have an iPad, this really is worthy of checking out as one of the very best games for the iPad to date.
